HSNet summary

This event compares how the EU institutions and independent trackers describe the Artificial Intelligence Act and its rollout. Every claim is attributed to its source. The first verified anchor is the European Commission's AI Act framework pages; further legislative and enforcement developments will be compared over time.

Sections carry a transparent verification status — verified sections cite the primary document; pending sections are disclosed rather than hidden. HSNet attributes every conclusion and does not issue a verdict.

This page compares official documents, investigative findings, government responses and media reporting. It is not legal advice and not a court judgment. HSNet does not determine legal truth; every conclusion is attributed to its source.

The text

Verified from primary sourceEuropean Commission — Regulatory framework on AI (AI Act)Verified 24 July 2026
According to the European Commission's AI Act pages, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act applies in phases: bans on certain 'unacceptable-risk' practices took effect in February 2025, and obligations for general-purpose AI models from August 2025. The Commission states transparency rules take effect in August 2026, while most high-risk-system requirements were rescheduled — following a Council and Parliament political agreement on 7 May 2026 to simplify the rules — to apply from 2 December 2027, and from 2 August 2028 for AI embedded in regulated products. The independent EU AI Act tracker maintained by the Future of Life Institute describes the same four-tier, risk-based structure (prohibited, high-risk, limited-risk, minimal-risk) and phased timeline. (European Commission — primary; Future of Life Institute AI-Act tracker — secondary.)
